1
Does my child need to be potty trained to attend The Wild School's preschool programs?
Yes, we do require that all children attending are potty trained. They need to be able to pull their pants up and down and go on a toddler-sized potty.
2
Is there an indoor classroom?
We do not have an indoor space in most of our locations. In case of inclement weather, we will make our own shelters and utilize pavilions or spaces located in the parks. Each park will have a different plan of action for inclement weather. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for outdoor activities. Details will be provided before the program begins.
3
What is your student-to-teacher ratio?
We have a 15 student cap with 3 Preschool Teachers and a parent volunteer present each day.

*If the class size is under 10, we will have 2 preschool teachers.
4
Is there a place for parents to hang out at your campus while my child is in class?
We ask that all parents leave the location after dropping off their child unless you are an assigned parent helper for that session.
5
How much emphasis is placed on traditional preschool academics within the student-led exploration learning style?
While traditional academics is not our main focus, we incorporate it into our curriculum. We believe foundational understanding is important before introducing symbols like numbers and letters.
6
This will be my child's first school experience and I expect them to feel anxious. Can I stay at school with them for the first few days?
Our teachers are experienced in helping children and parents get comfortable with the transition into preschool. As a rule, we do not allow parents to stay at class, as it often discourages the child from fully engaging with the teacher and other students.

If you are worried, you can enroll your child in one of our parent/child classes to start out and see how they do. See those programs here.
7
Can I request a teacher for my child?
Children will have opportunities to spend time with all teachers and classmates.
8
Will my child swim at class?
We will spend time playing and splashing in the water on good weather days, but we will never swim or go in the water past the ankle.
9
Will early drop-off or late pick-up be available?
Classes run from 9:00 am-1:00 pm each day, with early drop-off at 8:45am and a 15-minute grace period for late pick-up. The Heights Program has an optional extended pickup at 3:00 PM.
